While the author may be a recognized authority in the subject,this book could have been greatly improved by professional editing - it reads as if there was in fact no oversight because redundancy, weak grammatical structure, and mispellings are common. The narrative is not well organized either and appears as if transcribed from conversation. However, the greatest flaw of this book is its lack of rigor; a few equations oftentime provide much better clarity than attempts at descriptive illustration. There are lots of graphs, but it devolves onto the reader as to their analytical origins. This book was a huge disappointment and is not recommended. If you're not an engineer, but merely interested in the basic workings of a combined cycle plant, obtain this book from a library. Otherwise one would be much better served by a thermodynamics text and manufacturers' literature. The appalling lack of sound mathematical treatment renders this book nearly useless to an engineer. ...
